“I’ll never give you the access codes!” Andre yelled. His guard pressed a button which caused his restraints to tighten and briefly electrocute him.
“Fine, have it your way,” Leader Kwahk scoffed. We Kranteels are sick of you humans and your constant expansion. This planet doesn’t belong to you and I plan to annihilate everything you’ve built so the planet can recover. “Target all of their defenses and take us closer to the port of entry.”
“Please! No! There are millions of families on that planet! My family is on that planet,” Andre pleaded.
“Sir, the port of entry has a frequency shield that changes rapidly. It’s impossible to get through without the access codes,” the navigator responded.
“Funny thing about frequency shields; they don’t work very well for small, fast objects,” Leader Kwahk replied with a smirk on his face. Pressing the comm button on his chair, he commanded: “Engineering, release the Kthulus.” Turning, he looked at Andre with a smile full of razor teeth. His yellow eyes with slit pupils narrowed. “Watch this, human!”
Andre gawked at the viewing screen on the bridge wall. Hundreds of laser beams illuminated the massive mechanical shield covering the planet below. Defense cannons exploded into tiny bursts of light on the artificial surface.
Suddenly, thousands of tiny drones equipped with afterburners descended from the edge of the screen towards the port of entry. Arranging themselves in various patterns and altitudes as they got closer to the shield. As the first wave reached the shield they burst into bright blue explosions. Wave after wave met the same fate.
Leader Kwahk turned to his specialist. “Well?”
“One success,” she responded.
“One is all it takes. Execute!”
“Done, sir,” the specialist responded.
The viewing screen zoomed in on the port of entry as a tiny light on the other side changed direction towards the edge of the port. As it reached the edge, an enormous explosion erupted from the artificial surface, then another and another. A chain reaction of explosions ripped through the surface and traveled along the entire surface sending debris crashing to the surface of the planet.
“What have you done?” Andre cried.
